About The Program
This exciting 8-week summer balances hard work with weekend travel, day trips in the Highlands, and Scottish cultural activities. At the University of Glasgow, you can access courses that are hard to get at UC while experiencing the wonders of Scotland. Get a full year of physics, or get a jump in pre-med/pre-health. Tap into your inner Harry Potter at the main building—a real-life Hogwarts. On weekends, pack a picnic and head out to see some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Hike Bracklinn Falls through the woods, visit a13th-century castle, or nap on the beautiful sands of Ayr Beach.
Where you'll study
Attend the alma mater to some of the world’s most renowned innovators: physicist and engineer Lord Kelvin, economist Adam Smith, and pioneer of television John Logie Baird. Among the UK’s earliest universities, parts of the University of Glasgow feel like a set out of a Harry Potter movie. On your way to classes, you’ll pass by elegant spires, gothic-arched windows, epic colonnades, and halls where Albert Einstein once lectured. In other areas, you’ll find the modern labs, sleek steel and glass structures, and Ivy-League-grade facilities one would expect at a leading school for international research. Depending on your program and course choices, you may end up at any of its three campuses. The main campus is located in the posh West End of Glasgow about two miles from the city center. In addition to the university’s high world rankings in the life sciences and expansive biology department, you can find just about any classes for your UC major in Glasgow. Whether your focus is in the humanities, law, social sciences, STEM, or pre-med, the University of Glasgow is an excellent choice.
