Housing
All housing is prearranged by staff in Madrid before departure. You have the option to live in a student dorm or in a homestay with a Spanish family. Recent alumni highly recommend the homestay to not only help with language learning but also provide local support as you get acquainted with life in a new city.
Dorm
In the student dorms, you’ll share a room with one other UC student. The dorms are double-occupancy with a shared bathroom and access to communal kitchen facilities.

Commute
The student dorm is about a 20-minute walk to the center where classes are held.
Homestay
Homestays consist of a rented room in a house or apartment. Depending on your host, you may or may not be included in daily activities. Some homestay families will host a second student (UC or international) but it’s rare.

Commute
Homestays are located throughout Madrid and are typically 30–45 minutes by bus or metro from classes. You may also be placed in housing close enough to walk to class.
