About The Program
Explore French-speaking West Africa through coursework, a homestay, an internship and community service in the busy seaside capital of Dakar. Learn about contemporary Senegalese society and culture and engage in French or Wolof language study.
WHERE YOU'LL STUDY
You’ll take classes with other US students on your program at the study center in Dakar. The study center is a new building in a quiet, residential neighborhood called Amitié III. Nearby are restaurants and shops, and the study center has computer labs, a student lounge, and a café. Classes are taught by Senegalese faculty, many of whom hold faculty appointments at Cheikh Anta Diop University and are active local experts in their professional field. The study center also shares the building with a branch campus of France’s University of Perpignan, whose student body is overwhelmingly Senegalese.
