About The Program

On this 5-week summer program, you’ll register for and take two courses that fit your academic plan while gaining valuable international and intercultural experience to boost your future employment options. The list of available courses is slightly limited due to summer, but the University of Sydney offers the widest range of summer course availability compared to other Australian universities. Throughout the program, the university offers a long menu of social programs including surf camp, park trips and the full koala and kangaroo experience. Summer in Sydney lets you experience the best blend of academic opportunities, urban excitement and outdoor activities. The summer months are cooler (think daytime 60s) as it is Sydney's winter. With its friendly locals and laid-back lifestyle, Sydney provides an inviting atmosphere for students to immerse themselves in Australian culture. Spread out your beach blanket and books on one of Sydney’s iconic beaches, like Bondi and Manly, the perfect spot for surfing, swimming, and socializing, or pack a picnic for a day hike in the nearby Blue Mountains. The city's diverse culinary scene, featuring fresh seafood, vegan fare, international cuisines, and more, is a treat for food lovers.

Where you'll study

The University of Sydney (USYD) is Australia’s first university and one of the most highly regarded institutions in the world. The central campus is located in Camperdown, a district in the city of Sydney. The university’s many additional teaching and research locations span from the uber urban campus all the way to a remote research station at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. The magnificent neo-Gothic quadrangle on the main campus is considered a national treasure. Public transport by rail and bus from campus makes it easy to discover Sydney and enjoy all the city has to offer, from the shopping and markets to beaches and outback farms. Student life offers access to a multitude of cultural and scientific museums. On-campus bars offer a relaxed coffee shop atmosphere during the day, and comedy and poker events at night. In addition to the casual events around campus, there are hundreds of student clubs and societies to enjoy, from book and anthropology clubs to music and sports associations.
