About The Program
Mandarin Chinese is the world's most widely spoken language. At Taiwan’s top language training center, build fluency in this critical language whether you have zero experience or years of study. Enriching culture courses add field trips, calligraphy or martial arts training, and a taste of Chinese cuisine. Practice your Mandarin while taking in the aromas of Taipei’s night markets. Try a papaya milk smoothie. Shop like locals at 7-11 stores, where you can find anything from electronics to tea eggs. Set a lantern adrift at the Ghost Festival in Keelung City. On weekends, explore Wulai and its spectacular waterfalls, hot springs, and hiking trails.
Where you'll study
The Mandarin Training Center (MTC) is one of the largest and most renowned schools for Chinese as a second language. Part of the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) system, MTC enrolls students from over 70 countries around the world. MTC is conveniently located on the Da’an campus of NTNU, close to public transportation and the night market. The learning facilities include multimedia classrooms, a library, auditorium, culture and cuisine classrooms, and language labs for accelerating your Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The center prides itself on its small class sizes, which optimize individual learning. On the ground floor you’ll find an outdoor café where you can enjoy the weather and chatting with friends. As an MTC student, you’ll also have access to the main NTNU campus facilities, student clubs, and societies.
