When you find your own housing, you'll have more control over the type of apartment and the areas of Berlin you live in. While it can be more challenging, especially if you speak little to no German, it can be a rewarding experience.

Commute

Your commute time to class will depend on the location of your apartment. It is common to commute 45 to 60 minutes to campus and approximately 20 minutes to the Berlin city center by metro or bus. You’ll feel like a local in no time with your public transportation pass for the bus and rapid transit railway system (S-Bahn and U-Bahn).

Dorm

Program-arranged single rooms are offered in two locations.

THE STUDENT HOTEL

At the Student Hotel, you'll live in a single, furnished room with a private bathroom located in the central Alexanderplatz neighborhood. In addition to students, Berlin visitors reside in the hotel. The hotel includes a gym, study rooms, library, WiFi, and communal areas. Berlin’s city center starts just around the corner from the Student Hotel.

STUDENT VILLAGE

At the Student Village, you'll live in a single, furnished room located in Berlin’s suburban, green southwest. You'll share a bathroom with other residents. The complex includes WiFi and communal areas. The Berlin city center is approximately 45 minutes by metro and bus.

Homestay

In a homestay, you can practice the German language in the warmth and comfort of a private home. Each homestay host has experience sharing their home with international students. To give you the best experience possible and place you with the right host, you’ll complete a housing form before departure.
