Thank you for your interest in and for attending UCEAP Open House: Explore Study Abroad. Please check your email inbox on Tuesday, April 13 to get access to all of the recordings.

While you wait for these resources, in addition to exploring the UCEAP website, here are a few steps that you can take to continue your study abroad journey:

  • Learn about the impact of UCEAP from students just like you. The Californian Abroad features stories, photography, and 3-minute travel guides from the perspective of UC students.
  • Visit the UCEAP digital viewbook to discover the career benefits of study abroad, obtain recommendations based on your study abroad personality, and get a virtual tour of UCEAP study abroad locations.
  • Review the Campus Credit Abroad database to see the specific types of credit (i.e., major, minor, general education, elective) that UC students previously received for courses abroad.
  • Join in the conversation with UCEAP on InstagramFacebookTwitter, and LinkedIn.

Tuesday, April 6, 4-4:30 pm

Your perceptions of your identity may be challenged abroad. This session will encourage you to think about visible and invisible parts of your identity and how they may shift in different cultural contexts. A panel of study abroad alumni will share their experiences with identity perception while studying abroad and you will receive resources to help you prepare for the differences you may encounter in other cultures.

Unsure of how study abroad will fit into your schedule before graduation? Discover tips and resources to help you create a study abroad plan that will meet your educational goals. Walk away with clear steps to arrange a successful study abroad experience that fits your timeline and academic needs.

Wednesday, April 7, 2-2:30 pm

Feeling ambitious? Discover a self-paced certificate program that lets you master skills and prepare to apply for the Peace Corps. Even if you aren't certain you want to apply for the Peace Corps, this program will help you grab the attention of potential employers or give you a head start in your public service or NGO career.

There are many options to support your study abroad financial needs. If you have financial aid, you can use that to study abroad with UCEAP. Did you know that UCEAP offers scholarships? Learn about scholarship options and gain scholarship application tips, including how to make your personal statement stand out. You will also hear about the most affordable UCEAP offerings and how they compare to remaining at your UC campus.

Tuesday, April 6, 3-3:30 pm

COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of our lives and study abroad is no exception. Discover resources that UCEAP uses to track the status of COVID-19, how COVID-19 impacts programming decisions, and how you will receive updates during your time abroad. You'll also learn what you should consider before leaving the US and things to keep in mind once you are in-country.

You may have heard that study abroad can help your career, but do you know how? Hear recent UCEAP alumni and staff discuss how study abroad helped them find their dream job. Get tips on how to highlight the professional benefits of study abroad and learn how to articulate lessons from abroad into transferable career skills.
