This course examines the foreign relations of Spain. Topics include: Spain's foreign relations-- a complex model of relations whose core is formed by foreign policy; legal and political aspects of Spanish foreign policy-- bodies, powers, preparation, application, and control instruments; Spain's coordination with, autonomy from, and subordination to European foreign policy; key issues on the Spanish foreign agenda; perceptions-- Spain's view of the world and the foreign image of Spain.

This course provides a study of the history of contemporary artistic movements, from the Enlightenment through the present day. 

This course offers an in-depth exploration of Shakespeare and his works with particular focus on Shakespeare's use of language, style, and evolution. 

This course is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on Egyptian religion from its origins in pre-history to its influence on later religions, including Christianity. This course discusses dogma, ritual, and element of religious culture such as temples, tombs, and representations in visual arts. The second part focuses on religions of the Near East. This course examines the geographic area that encompassed the Sumero-Akkadian cuneiform culture. It explores the concept of divinity in Mesopotamia and the main divinities. This course analyzes the temple, representations of the gods in the temple, and worship in the temple, as well as types of prayer, rituals, and divination.

This course provides a historical overview of the development of political parties in the Western world, and in particular, those of the European Union and Spain. Topics covered include: concepts and origins of political parties; roles of political parties (typologies); organization and structure; party and electorate systems. This Catalan I course stresses oral and written communication, supplementing practical language instruction with grammatical elements to enable students to reach A1-A2 proficiency of the Catalan language.
