This course examines topics in advertising. It studies basic modern concepts/ideas, theoretical models, empirical instruments and data sources in advertising and introduces the place of advertising in business, branding, and society. The course helps students to understand and be able to apply principles for aesthetic, rhetorical, ethical, and cultural critique of advertising products and practices.

This course examines the development of Chinese classical gardens; the characteristics of Chinese feudal society and the historical causes of the development of Chinese classical gardens; the cosmology and the realm of Chinese classical gardens; the principle of "neutralization" in Chinese classical aesthetics; the art of framing Chinese classical gardens' and the high degree of self-improvement of Chinese traditional cultural system and its influence on garden culture.

The course examines the historical, economic, and political characteristics of Nordic countries. Specific attention is paid to the uniqueness of the Nordic countries compared to the rest of Europe. Course contents include Nordic history, politics, economics, and business, labor market, and culture. Specific lecture topics include Nordic literature, Ibsen on page and on stage; Norwegian gender equality in politics and society; a historical and generational perspective of Norwegian gender equality in everyday life; the myths and realities of Finnish education; the petroleum-based welfare state; systems of government and the Nordic model; public reforms and the Nordic model; Finnish constitutional and criminal law; and public health in a Nordic perspective.

This course helps the students to
1) Understand financial statements and master statement analysis methods
2) Understand various valuation models and their application in different scenarios
3) Master M&A-related knowledge, including: M&A concept, M&A transaction process, transaction structure, financing strategy, application of valuation models in M&A, and the impact of consolidated financial statements
4) Master the valuation of listed companies
This course consists of three parts. The first part will systematically review financial statements and form the basis of financial statement analysis. Based on this, the course will introduce various valuation methods.
The second part of the course will focus on mergers and acquisitions. Mergers and acquisitions reflect the allocation of resources in the capital market, have strategic significance for enterprises, and are complex in transactions. The course will introduce the basic concepts, motivations and economic consequences of mergers and acquisitions, the main processes involved, transaction structure, valuation, financing methods, etc. This part will be based on the valuation methods of the first part, combined with the characteristics of unlisted companies.
The third part will discuss the valuation of listed companies and provide reference for investors' resource allocation decisions. The course aims to establish the connection between financial information and capital market, and cultivate students' ability to integrate and apply basic knowledge of finance and accounting to investment decision-making.
