During my internship at a venture investing organization, I helped build the fund’s foundation by co‑creating a three‑level market vetting rubric—from macro themes (regulation, demographics, climate) to sector traction and company‑level due diligence—that the investment team used to assess real startups. I also drafted investor newsletters and company spotlights, supported outreach, and published content via Mailchimp, while building a social media calendar. This involved balancing research, writing, and stakeholder communication, and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-moving, small-team environment.
This internship confirmed that I want to be at the intersection of innovation and capital. Helping build the fund’s three-level market rubric from scratch showed me the power of creating a system that others can use to make informed decisions. Most importantly, this internship did not just confirm a career interest. It gave me conviction.
