Course Description
Through this course students learn the varieties and uses of spoken Spanish in different communicative situations. Students analyze the proper characteristics of oral language in comparison to the written language, and colloquial register is specifically studied. Colloquial language is described as a level of speech, where the speaker materializes his communication, within the limits established by the spatial and social coordinates of the linguistic system and by external factors; furthermore, the importance of the context or circumstance in which the act of speech occurs is underlined, as it determines the expression.
