Join us for an interactive session designed for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AA/PI) students interested in studying abroad! “Student Stories: Exploring AA/PI Experiences in Global Learning” will showcase the unique experiences of AA/PI students who've tackled the ups and downs of living and learning in different cultures.

In this session, panelists will share their personal journeys—covering everything from cultural surprises to academic wins, and how these experiences shaped their personal and professional growth. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and discover resources to help make your study abroad goals a reality.

Choosing to study in a different country is an exciting step in your college career. As a woman, you may encounter unique challenges and rewards while you navigate the study abroad landscape. In our session, you will hear recent student returnees and UC staff from around the world share about their experiences as women abroad. Attend and gain insight on topics like international access to reproductive healthcare, how to understand and respond to different gender norms, establishing a support network overseas, tips for solo traveling, and more.

While LGBTQIA+ life exists everywhere, the degree to which it's visible and it's supported varies greatly around the world. This session will help prepare students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to study abroad as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from UCEAP alumni and learn about their experiences as LGBTQIA+ students abroad.

Studying and Living Abroad with a Disability or Accommodation

During this session, we'll discuss the possibilities and realities of studying abroad with a disability or accommodation. We'll talk about challenges real and perceived about the overseas experience with an accommodation, and hear first-hand perspectives from UCEAP alumni. You'll come away prepared with the tools to research your study abroad opportunities and begin your journey.
