As a Software Engineering Intern, I worked closely with my supervisor and was responsible for working on frontend development of web pages and applications for clients, generating technical documentation regarding code, as well as project structure analysis. These tasks allowed me to gain hands-on experience with developing web and mobile applications. It also gave me the flexibility to explore the different roles of a typical data or computer scientist. In addition to the technical knowledge I gained, I also had the opportunity to bond with my colleagues through virtual games and learn about their cultural backgrounds. I found myself not only using native Spanish phrases to communicate with my coworkers, but also sharing their enthusiasm for their local soccer team. In my internship seminar, I also had the chance to hold discussions with other students interning in other countries and we shared our challenges and the differences in culture we noticed in the workplace.
