Truthfully, at first, I was really looking for another excuse to go abroad.

It’s no secret that for those pursuing jobs in tech, an internship the summer of your junior year is absolutely crucial to make getting your foot in the door post-graduation an easier time, and my time, which was already short, was running out.

As a Cognitive Science major with a Specialization in Computing and a Digital Humanities and Data Science Engineering double minor, I’m very interested and driven toward software engineering, technology, design, and the creation of technology with a human-centered approach, prioritizing innovation for the sake of benefiting people, rather than for the sake of innovation. As such, it felt like a perfect match; it was no surprise that this was the final push I needed to apply for study abroad. I could have the best of both worlds: an engineering internship for my professional development, and an experience abroad for my personal development. I crossed my fingers and applied.

As a cognitive science major with a double minor in computing and data science engineering, a summer in Yonsei was the best of both worlds: an engineering internship and experience abroad!
