In the end, the biggest lesson I learned was to always remember why we do what we do. That is, I learned that we do not just send a hundred emails, text and make phone calls daily, or struggle with contract complications simply because it is work. Rather, Noah made sure to remind me that we have a responsibility to both our buyers and our team. Gazing at a photo of a single man handling Hyundai batteries and lubricants in a small local store in Saudi Arabia, my passion and mindset was completely impacted – the work we do actually does affect peoples’ lives. Perhaps, this is why everyone at Hyundai works so hard and efficiently together as a team. I came to realize this as everyone in the office was incredibly professional yet so very encouraging and intentional with each other. Ultimately, working for Hyundai Corporation was a very precious opportunity for me. It gave me the language to not only speak Korean, but the language to understand a different approach to academics, career, and life.
