In summary, my internship at NUS Forensic Science Laboratory was nothing but a blast in my college career and a boost to my decision-making of future career. Not only because of the skills I learnt during the internship that I find the most enriching, but the people and networking that I met during the past few months. I see students and professionals from all kinds of disciplines, all come together for a joint vision and responsibility of preventing crimes and promote a safer Singapore. Many might say it is difficult for one to know what he/she truly wants to pursue, yet I do believe the first step to tackle that problem is to be proactive; with that, I’m glad that I took my shot and approached Professor Tan in the first place, while more importantly, I’m grateful for the challenges that confronted me during the internship that helped me grow as an individual, and the happiness that I found throughout this journey that made me feel more certain on my path of becoming a forensic scientist.
