During my time in Brazil my goal was to learn more about Brazilian culture and history, something that is important and relevant to me as a Latin American and Latino Studies and Sociology double major. Additionally, being in a classroom with other students outside of California also contributed to my memorable experiences because we were all so different and we learned different things about each other, our cultures and our home countries. Each individual in the space brought their own ideas and perspectives, something that made the classroom more engaging and interactive. Not only did I learn in the classroom, but I also learned outside of the classroom by exploring different parts of Rio, talking to locals and trying different foods and activities.
