If there is a possibility to do an internship while studying abroad I highly recommend it. There will be some challenges due to language barriers if you do an internship whose predominant language is not English, however you do get the hang of it. I struggled with my academic Spanish at first, especially with the complex wording in legal documents and I also struggled with my lack of vocabulary in order to talk about these legal processes. However, through practice and reading these legal documents and academic articles in school, I was able to slowly but surely gain the skills in order to properly inform people of these procedures in Spanish. In this way, just with practice alone, it will definitely improve any language barrier you may face.
