I was the only one out of my friend group to do an entire year abroad. This meant I had two transitional periods: the first semester I came with lots of friends, and the second semester I returned alone. In both situations, EXPANDING one’s inner circle was essential. While it's comfortable to be with friends from home, one must take advantage of all the interesting, and amazing people abroad.
