It was almost dreamlike going to work every day in the Oireachtas–the Irish Parliament. I was reading about the first sitting of the Dáil–the lower house–and then I would be sitting in the chamber the next day. My badge gave me access to all parts of Leinster House and it was so cool to enter through the front doors, walk down the halls, and eat in the canteen. That last point was a highlight as someone who loves food as it was so well-made and presented, but also because it was where I had a short but sweet convo with the Taoiseach–the prime minister–Simon Harris! I also got very lucky being placed with Cormac Devlin TD, who was coincidentally the member of parliament representing Dalkey. I always woke up excited to go to work and would leave with a big smile on my face because my office was so welcoming and full of Irish humor.
