The Summer Research in Glasgow program has given me the opportunity to conduct a laboratory research project with a degree of independence difficult to acquire otherwise. Doing research abroad in particular has also given me a peek into the research culture of Scotland and western Europe more broadly, something that is particularly useful given the state of life sciences research stateside.
