This introductory course analyzes the elements have shaped identity and culture in Mexico throughout history, as well as the values that various artistic expressions developed over time. The course aims to:
- Discover the historical development of the configuration of identities in Mexican culture, through the concepts of art, crafts, artist, craftsman, cutlure, folklore, acculturation and transculturation.
- Distinguish artisan production and culinary culture and its connection with local and regional identities.
- Distinguish particular processes of aesthetic production in visual culture, architecture and Mexican design in their historical context.
- Explore the evolution of photography, film, and the media in Mexico, as well as its historical contribution to the development of gender, race and class identities.
COURSE DETAIL
This course requires no previous knowledge of Spanish and aims to develop one's communication skills. By the end of the course, participants are expected to participate in communicative interactions with Spanish speakers in social and academic settings.
The course covers the following topics:
- Greetings, introductions and short conversations;
- Asking for and giving basic information about himself/herself, other people, things, places, etc.;
- Enact transactions in stores to receive goods and services;
- Supply and retrieve information on and from simple formats and documents;
- Identify main ideas and facts in simple texts;
- Write simple texts: notes, postcards, e-mails, etc.;
- Become aware of the worldwide linguistic and cultural diversity, and
- Perform in intercultural settings.

This course explores the key individual and group behaviors that enhance organizational performance and wellbeing. It analyzes organizations’ management models with a systemic shared-value perspective and teaches responsible management, considering national and international regulatory frameworks for trade, fiscal, labor law, and human rights.
The class provides opportunities to design proposals that generate shared value by understanding the concerns and expectations of diverse interest groups protecting society from the risks produced by organizational actions. Furthermore, the class teaches how to communicate a future vision of an organization that reflects its social responsibility and purpose while developing competitive advantages through utilizing financial information in decision making to enhance organizational profitability and financial structures.

This course provides opportunities for students to formulate international cooperation and global governance strategies, while considering characteristics of specific globalization challenges. The course aims to understand the relevant actors or agents in international cooperation for development, including their diverse instruments and modalities. The class evaluates causes, consequences and interests of the actors involved in international cooperation and global governance, then they design international cooperation and global governance strategies, seeking a fairer distribution of power.
The course requires prior knowledge in the evolution of the international system as well as International Relations theories.

This intermediate-level marketing course aims to equip students with the skills to design internal marketing strategies that generate value for the consumer by aligning human capital and leveraging the company's technological capabilities. It requires prior knowledge of basic concepts related to organizational culture, structure, and climate that foster a customer-centric philosophy. As a learning outcome, the class will develop internal marketing strategy plans.

This intermediate level course reviews the main theoretical considerations of cultural constructs, stressing the relevance of the role of otherness and the dimensions of intersectionality. The course starts from a critical and current analysis of identity in order to seek proposals for dialogue and peace policies aimed at building a cosmopolitan vision of the human being.
This course does not require prior knowledge or experience. It is desirable however that those who are interested in taking it, show curiosity for intercultural dialogue, critical thinking and the development of capacities around collaborative learning.

This intermediate Spanish course explores the characteristics of the Spanish language while providing opportunities to develop one's communicative skills in various social and academic contexts. It requires previous knowledge of the enunciation system in Spanish: the syntax of simple and compound sentences; form and function of the parts of a sentence; indicative present tense; preterit imperfect; simple preterite and preterite perfect; future periphrastic ,aspectual,and modal verb periphrases; imperative and present subjunctive. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to interact adequately in everyday situations, becoming aware of the cultural and social aspects of the Spanish-speaking world (CEFR A2.1).
