This course emphasizes distinct anthropological perspectives regarding religion and the fundamental role it plays in the development, transformation, and/or perpetuation of a culture. Through key theories and their implications, the course seeks to explore the syncretic results of local religions' merging with traditional orthodox religions, as well as the processes of indigenous evangelization and conversion.
