Course Description
This course provides a critical analysis of literary texts as they relate to cinema, focusing on the different ways literature uses film as a narrative matrix. The course covers a selection of texts and essays in which film is viewed as a cultural phenomenon and story trigger and examines various literary tools for analyzing the relationship between literature and film, such as transextuality, intermediality, interdiscursivity, and narratology.
