This course examines the Spanish language in four major skill areas: grammar and composition (written experience), listening comprehension, reading comprehension and conversation (oral expression).

This course offers a study of elementary Spanish equivalent to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students who successfully complete the course can deal with simple, straightforward information and can express themselves in a limited manner in most common situations in daily life.

This course examines the origins and evolution of the Spanish language through the study of texts representative of the different eras of its history. It discusses the main linguistic changes from Latin to modern Spanish, with special attention to the evolution of the phonological system. 

This course offers a study of the Spanish language at the advanced (CEFR B2) level.

This course provides a survey of the various 20th century Spanish and Latin American literary movements and schools of thought, using select authors as examples. It begins with an overview of the history of Spanish literature and language, before reviewing the evolution of literary genres within Spanish literature.
