During my internship as an application developer at a tech organization abroad, I built and tested features for a cross-platform handyman app using React Native—including real-time booking and tracking—while collaborating with designers and backend engineers to improve UX and stability across devices. My days balanced coding, debugging, and API integration with documenting processes and CI/CD practices, giving me practical experience in mobile development, teamwork, and creative problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.
My internship experience really confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in software development, especially in areas like mobile app development and backend work. Working on the handyman app deepened my understanding of what it takes to build functional, user-friendly software, and I loved the challenge of learning new tools like React Native on my own. It made me realize how much I enjoy the process of coding, problem-solving, and collaborating on a project to create something tangible.
