Requirements While Abroad
To successfully complete this program:
- Take two courses for a total of 9.0-10.5 quarter units/6.0-7.0 semester UC units.
- Both courses must be taken for a letter grade. The pass/no pass option is not available for this program.
Current Program Courses
Choose two courses:
- Foundations of Data Science (6.0 quarter/4.0 semester UC units, lower division)
This course offers an introduction to the principles and foundations of data science. Students gain in-depth knowledge of concepts and skills in computer programming and statistical inference. The course includes lectures and weekly programming-based lab assignments. It is designed for students who have not previously taken statistics or computer science courses.
Subject Area: Computer Science - Computational Structures in Data Science (4.5 quarter/3.0 semester UC units, lower division)
This course offers a rigorous introduction to programming, abstraction, and the structure of programs. It primarily uses the Python 3 language and includes functional programming and object-oriented programming.
Subject Area: Computer Science - History and Culture of Spain (4.5 quarter/3.0 semester UC units, lower division)
This Humanities course focuses on the history and culture of Spain.
Subject Area: History
Foundations of Data Science and Computational Structures in Data Science are designed to closely align with similar foundational data science courses taught at UCB, UCSB, and UCSD. Final course equivalencies are determined by your UC campus. Consult with your UC Academic or Major/Minor Advisor with any questions about the course equivalency process.
Additional or optional coursework, internships, and research for academic credit are not possible on this program.
