During my internship with a UN‑affiliated volunteer organization, I split time between office and remote work contributing to multiple projects: UI/UX designs for an emergency app, new website pages, blog content, and the annual report. I also led a digital UN International Days/Weeks calendar project by building a bulk‑generated (.csv) event system with recurring entries, and applied project management and technical skills to improve the app team’s scope, data organization, and development planning—bridging my business/informatics background with a public policy environment.
I finally felt what it was like to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world setting. I feel satisfied with the work I have done, working on meaningful projects that have a genuine positive impact on the community. It was genuinely a joy to attend meetings with the feeling that not only would my ideas be heard, but that I could also positively impact the conversation.
