During my internship with a migrant services and advocacy organization in Chile, I split time between frontline operations, research, and large‑event coordination. I handled Spanish‑language outreach and data organization on migrant journeys, coordinated logistics for an international conference on human mobility (managing 40+ panelists, presentations, bios, WhatsApp groups, and live troubleshooting), and completed two research projects: an analysis of Chile’s migration law and a comparative review of policies in Portugal, Canada, Mexico, and Spain—culminating in a 21‑page report and formal presentation in Spanish.
This internship reaffirmed both my career aspirations and my confidence in pursuing them. I saw how access to legal support can shape someone’s future, and I left even more committed to being part of that process. These experiences expanded my language skills and, just as importantly, my self-confidence.
