About The Program
Skyscrapers and high-speed transportation strike a balance with ancient cobbled streets and tea houses in Shanghai, a global economic hub. Build professional work experience interning with an organization on a project that matches your career goals. Many organizations welcome interns to technology, health or life sciences, communication, and social development projects. Expand your knowledge and skills through organizational site visits, industry networking events, and expert lectures. After work, view the cosmopolitan city from an observation deck above the clouds or on a riverboat tour.
Where you'll study
The Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) study center is located on the East China Normal University campus. The park-like campus features a winding river and traditional stone bridges overlooking serene lotus ponds. Public transportation, a short walk from the study center, whisks you to your internship site. Orientations, networking events, and meetings with internship supervisors are held at the study center and local organizations.
TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
Optional field trips and activities to introduce the local culture are available through your host university. Most events are free or discounted, but some come with an additional cost not included in UCEAP fees.
