About The Program

Transform your summer into a career-building experience in Seoul, where ancient palaces stand alongside gleaming tech headquarters. During this 8-week program, develop professional skills through a full-time internship while gaining insight into South Korea's innovative business landscape. Work 30-40 hours per week with organizations across multiple sectors, including business management, education, hospitality, tourism, and public administration. Strengthen your intercultural communication abilities through hands-on work experience in English or Korean. Weekly seminars help you reflect on your experiences and navigate workplace dynamics in an international setting. Beyond your internship, discover Seoul's countless layers - from peaceful Buddhist temples and traditional tea houses to K-pop culture and digital entertainment districts. Wander through bustling night markets, explore serene palace grounds, or take a quick train ride to coastal Busan or historic Gyeongju. Seoul's efficient public transportation system makes it easy to participate in your professional placement and explore the city's countless cultural offerings. Program excursions and cultural activities deepen your understanding of Seoul's business environment and rich heritage.

WHERE YOU'LL STUDY

The Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) has two offices: one on the Yonsei University campus and the other in the Jongno area. The Yonsei campus office is less than 20 minutes from downtown Seoul, and the Jongno office is centrally located in Seoul, with easy access to all parts of the city within an hour. The internship course is taught weekly in a traditional university-style classroom on the Yonsei University campus. Seoul has an extensive color-coded bus and subway system to get to and from your internship location. Students typically use prepaid transportation cards that can be recharged at many convenience stores and subway ticket machines.

TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
