About The Program
Tokyo is the heart of Asia’s international commercial hub and offers exceptional internship opportunities in business and communications, IT and computer science, and NGOs. This 8-week program combines a full-time internship with an online academic course, providing comprehensive professional development in one of the world's most dynamic cities. Work with leading organizations while receiving extensive support throughout your journey. From résumé building to networking events, expert-led workshops and guest lectures will help you maximize your experience. The online course complements your internship, covering key professional development topics and helping you reflect on Tokyo's unique business environment. Program activities may include attending a baseball game, visiting a Zen garden, walking the Rainbow Bridge, and touring the city on an open-air sky bus. When you’re not working or studying, Tokyo offers a wealth of cultural experiences, like taking a peaceful boat ride in Inokashira Park or sipping tea at one of the uniquely themed cafes, and modern attractions, like taking in the panoramic views from the Tokyo Skytree or shopping for cutting-edge electronics in Akihabara.
WHERE YOU'LL STUDY
The Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) Tokyo study center is located at Sophia University in Chiyoda City, conveniently positioned near landmarks such as the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo. You'll attend orientations, networking events, and meetings at the study center and local organizations. The study center is easily accessible by public transportation, and your internship site will be determined based on your career goals.
