About The Program
Offering the largest number of English-language courses in Spain, the University of Alicante is ideal for students interested in a Spanish experience and the opportunity to study architecture, biology, business, education, and translation. Majors in civil engineering, computer science, and law will also benefit. Spanish language is not a required component of this program, but classes are available at all levels, including advanced. Heritage Spanish speakers can also gain Valencian Spanish language skills. When not in class, lace up your hiking boots for a steep climb to the medieval Castillo de Santa Bárbara atop Mount Benacantil, and enjoy the sweeping views of the Mediterranean coast. Is climbing not your style? You can take the elevator to the top! Spain is blessed with thousands of kilometers of coastline, split into sections called ‘costas,’ and Alicante is on Costa Blanca, where white sand meets the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Don’t miss the opportunity to stroll along the modern Explanada de España, a palm-lined promenade on the waterfront, where you can indulge in seaside dining. Festivals like the Moors and Christians Festival, are incredibly diverse and offer a unique way to explore the region’s Moorish heritage.
