This course introduces international students to Catalan language (referred to as Valencian in the region of Valencia). It offers a study of everyday, familiar expressions and simple phrases aimed at satisfying basic needs. Students learn how to introduce themselves and third persons, to ask and answer questions about personal details. By the end of the course students can interact in Catalan in a simple and clear way.

The course examines the key economic challenges facing developing countries understand why some nations remain poor while others achieve sustained growth. Blending macro and micro perspectives, the course covers a wide range of topics including inequality, poverty, health, education, nutrition, labor markets, migration, gender dynamics, agriculture, and institutions.

This course explores spatial planning and environmental management within the context of civil engineering. It discusses the conceptual, methodological, and technical tools to integrate sustainability, spatial analysis, and infrastructure development into effective civil engineering practices. This course also examines the influence of environmental systems and urban services (transport, sanitation, waste, energy, and communication) on territorial planning, with a focus on sustainable development, regulatory compliance, and ethical responsibility.

This course introduces computer engineering students to the business side of technology projects. Students learn how to assess not only the technical success of a project but also its economic, financial, and social impact. Using both quantitative and qualitative methods, students explore how to make informed decisions about project viability, sustainability, and long-term value creation. This course discusses the importance of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they shape modern business and engineering practices. 

This course offers a study in the development and execution of creative communication strategies in advertising and public relations. Emphasis is placed on idea generation, conceptualization (visual and verbal), and the implementation of campaigns tailored to specific audiences, media environments, budgets, and timelines. This course discusses the full creative production process and evaluation of campaign effectiveness. It supports a strategic approach to communication grounded in creativity and real-world application.

This course offers a comprehensive overview of the evolution of economic thought from its early foundations to contemporary developments. It examines how economic thinking has responded to changing historical, political, and social contexts, and how major economists—such as Smith, Ricardo, Marx, Keynes, and others—have shaped our understanding of economic behavior and policy. 

This course introduces the principles and design of distributed systems, emphasizing communication, middleware, and web technologies. Students learn to develop secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed applications and services using modern frameworks and protocols.

The course builds on foundational biology and ecology knowledge to explore the structure, dynamics, and interactions of populations and communities. It provides essential skills in ecological data analysis, experimental design, and fieldwork. Students apply ecological theory to conservation, ecosystem management, and biodiversity assessment.

The course is designed to strengthen communication skills in Spanish through grammar, vocabulary, and cultural topics. Students learn to describe people and places, narrate past events, make comparisons, express opinions, and talk about future plans and possibilities.

This course introduces the fundamentals of urban design and planning through the analysis of contemporary urban structures and morphologies. Emphasis is placed on understanding the elements of urban form, historical growth processes, and the tools and terminology used in the field.
