Course Description

This is a comprehensive and in-depth financial management course, combining theory and applications. The course examines investment and finance decisions, and their interrelatedness. The major topics include financial analysis and planning, valuation, capital budgeting (NPV, IRR), capital structure policy, dividend policy, capital management, mergers and acquisition, agency theory, corporate governance, and risk and return analysis. An added topic entails a discussion on Business Ethics as related to Corporate Finance. The course looks at some of the greatest failings in Corporate Governance and examines how companies are attempting to place safeguards in their governance structure which will prevent past failings from occurring again.

Course Description

This course is designed for students with no or very limited knowledge of Korean. It helps students acquire a basic level of communicative competence in Korean. By the end of this course, students will be able to write and read the Korean alphabet; understand basic grammatical elements, such as particles, endings, and present/past/future tense; greet each other and introduce themselves; carry out conversations about topics relating to everyday life; and understand simple texts and write about familiar things and experiences.

Course Description

This course covers theories and research that guide public communication campaigns with a particular attention to message design principles. It also familiarizes students with areas of communication research including health communication (environmental and technological), risk communication, social marketing, and political campaigns. The course provides the opportunity to apply the concepts and theories learned in class in practical settings and examines the following questions: What are the theories often used in developing campaign messages? Do public service announcements communicated via the mass media really work? If not, how can we improve them? Other topics include how theories can be used to design effective campaign messages; how to critically assess and address barriers to communicating important social issues and induce social change; how to utilize relevant communication theories in designing real-life campaign messages; and how to utilize materials learned to design a real-life campaign message on a social issue.

Course Description
This course, the first in a series of two, is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to join the academic discourse in your discipline. By engaging with and responding to various texts, you learn how to evaluate what other have to say, how to acknowledge contributions made by others and how to advance the discussion by adding something new. Through reading, writing, discussion, and collaboration, you practice the essentials of writing for a specific audience and purpose with an emphasis on critical thinking. Emphasis is placed on format, organization, development, coherence, unity of focus, and consideration of audience and purpose. Students required to write 3 major papers: a stand-alone summary, an ideas critique, and an analysis/synthesis essay. By the end of this course, students learn how to: summarize the argument and exposition of a text accurately; demonstrate thoughtful interaction with the work of others through analysis and logical use of evidence; integrate sources with each other and with one's own analysis; produce thesis-directed writing that develops major points in a logical and convincing manner, in a process that involves reading, writing, and revising through which students discover ideas and develop those ideas into coherent sentences, paragraphs, and essays; demonstrate the ability to critique your own work and the work of your peers; demonstrate knowledge of genre conventions in terms of organization, formatting, paragraphing, and tone; and demonstrate understanding of the purposes and conventions of MLA documentation.

Course Description

This course studies English morphology, focusing on basic concepts, internal structure of English words, and the nature of word-formation processes. Course Description
The class examines and analyzes current trends in interior design and successful interior design examples. It assesses current display designs and proposes suggestions, based on evidence-based design. Students learn to apply selection of colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept, and to meet psychological satisfaction of the space users. They learn from practitioners about interior display and coordination and learn to communicate with space users and design professionals and propose better display and interior coordination for the client and users. Course Description
This course reviews current technologies on digital fabrication and explores emerging technologies for design and data integration, management, and exchange. Design and construction industries are undergoing dramatic changes, based on evolving technologies such as BIM, Web, Mobile IT and production technologies such as 3d printing. It provides a review of the field from the earliest days of CAD, through the current period using object-relational databases such as ISO-STEP technologies. The course does not make assumptions regarding student's background in detailed information technology per se, but does assume background in design applications, and some knowledge of computing software in order to digitally and physically fabricate actual products. The course explores various applications and hardware for digital fabrication, as well as reviewing current industry issues. Each student is asked to play significant roles in individual project works and final project collaborations, using at least some of followings: Grasshopper, Dynamo, Revit, BIM, Parametric Design, 3d Printing, Robot Arm, Arduino, Computer Programming such as Java, Phython, Processing, etc. Assessment: Midterm Project and/or Exam (20%), Final Project and/or Exam (20%), Assignments (20%), Attendance (20%), Class Participation (20%)

Course Description

This course focuses on not-for-profit arts organizations and related bodies in cultural creative industries. Topics covered include the evolution of the field, economic impact, value creation, the intrinsic and effectual structure, marketing, fundraising, and others. Students are introduced to a wide range of arts organizations and its projects, working as arts managers through lectures, readings and project research. In addition to understanding the organizational structures and functions of an arts organization, students have begun to develop a philosophy of management in the arts, a theoretical model for general management, and practical tools of its practice.
