This course explores major Spanish literary movements of the 18th and 19th century including the Enlightenment, neoclassicism, romanticism, realism, and naturalism. Each lecture is dedicated to the individual work of the following authors and their contribution to Spanish literature: Friar Feijoo, Ignacio Luzan, Leandro Fernandez de Moratin, Tomas de Iriarte, Felix Maria de Samaniego, Jose de Cadalso, Victor Hugo, Mariano Jose de Larra, Angel Saavedra, Jose de Espronceda, Jose de Zorilla, Juan Valera, Pedro Antonio de Alarcon, Perez Galdos, Leopoldo Alas, and Emilia Pardo Bazan. A focus is also placed on neoclassical fabulists, pre-romanticism, romantic Spanish poetry of the 19th century, and post-romanticism.

The course focuses on the basic guidelines for the analysis of international cooperation, particularly those aimed at promoting development, within the current global political and economic dynamics. The class will design, implement, and evaluate international cooperation projects for development.

This course is divided into three parts. Part one offers a history and introduction to literary theory that made possible the emergence of post-structuralism. Part two discusses Jacques Derrida, his foundational texts, and the theory of deconstruction. The final part of the course examines feminist theories in literature.

This course examines the Spanish short story in the 20th century from a literary and historical perspective. The course discusses the effects of the Spanish Civil War and the Franco dictatorship on artistic expression, and explores specific literary motifs of the era.

This course discusses entrepreneurship and business within the field of art and design. Topics include: leadership; decision-making; human and personal development; conscious design; sustainability; circular economy and the stakeholders; the nature of a contract; professional artistic practices.
