This course offers a study of political systems around the world. Topics include: comparing and contrasting forms of government and state in Western Europe; presidentialism in the Americas; post-communism and institutional design; dependence, economic development, and democracy; social revolution, class struggle, energy, and neo-authoritarianisms; ethnic conflict; political institutions and economic performance; democracy and socioeconomic inequalities; the Arab world; China and liberal democracy.

Course Description
This course provides a study of the design principles and the development of applications for mobile terminals. Topics are divided in three blocks: operating systems for mobile devices and general concepts of development of mobile applications; development of mobile applications; design and implementation of a mobile application. Course Description
This course requires the reading and interpretation of cultural essays related to the theme of national identity and continental Latin American identity. In addition to studying the evolution and forms of this kind of literary genre, the course demands critical analysis of the different authors and their works including José Martí, Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Alfonso Reyes, Octavio Paz y Luis Oyarzún. Students analyze the problems and cultural models suggested by these essayists and interpret the construction of a traditional Latin American culture.
