Course Description
This course focuses on investment decisions within the context of uncertainty. It covers topics of capital and equilibrium, the relationship between risk and return, portfolio theory and selection, the CAPM model, arbitrage price theory (APT), fixed income portfolios, interest rate risk, and immunization. A central part of the class includes the analysis of derivative financial instruments, such as: financial options, forward and future contracts, interest rate swaps, and their practical use.

Course Description
This intensive intermediate Spanish course aims to improve the oral and writing skills of students who have already acquired an introduction to essential grammar and vocabulary, while further introducing them to Spanish culture and society. The objectives of the course include the communication of personal experiences from the past future; the expression of prohibition, obligation, and opinion; the presentation of arguments, debates, and recommendations or advice; the ability to convey messages between individuals; discuss future events and express cause and consequence. Assessment for the course is based on class participation and daily workbook exercises, weekly quizzes and compositions, a mid-term exam, and a final exam. This course is a study on the main variables that influence the behavior of economic agents. It covers the basic concepts of consumer theory, uncertainty and risk, the theory of the firm, and partial equilibrium analysis. Course Description
The elective in the field of sociology examines issues of power and domination, as well as the relationship of both to the concept of democracy. It applies of classic and contemporary perspectives of social and political theory to four questions: what is "power"; what are their modes of constitution or expression in different institutions/social spaces (state, market, families, etc.); what distinguishes "power" from "domination"; and finally, what are the consequences of these conceptual distinctions for the idea of "democracy"?
