This course examines the different perceptions of leisure throughout the Spanish Golden Age as well as their cultural significance. Topics include: children's games; , the female space; theater musicals; bull fighting; collecting; the royal court as a stage; impact of religion; intimacy, leisure, and transgression.

This course provides a critical analysis of social problems and conflicts deriving from the characteristic processes of social restructuring and change in post-industrial societies and examines the major social problems that affect contemporary societies in a globalized world. It looks at the conceptualization and representation of social problems, including theoretical and methodological perspectives and the dynamics of the emergence, formation, and representation of problems. The course also uses case studies to look at social cohesion and exclusion, globalization and the new post-industrial economy; challenges for governance; environment and sustainability.

This course provides a study of the stages of historical development of Mexican cinema. It also examines the sociocultural context of film productions as they were made.

This course analyzes the creation of public policies in Mexico. Topics and themes may vary by term and instructor.

This course examines the theoretical principles that influence the political analysis of Latin America. National case studies are used to focus discussion of development strategies and divergent institutional evolutions. The difficulties faced by contemporary Latin American democracies are another major focus for analysis. Assessment is based on attendance and participation, a midterm exam, a final exam, and a final project based on presented topics.

This course offers a study of the primary elements of international relations and international society. The course is divided into two parts. The first part includes: the formation and transformation of international society; its characteristics, subject and actors; the role of the media and international law. The second part includes: the evolution and functions of the primary international organizations; the UN, the EU, and other regional organizations. This course provides a study of the theoretical and conceptual bases that underpin the fields of both cultural geography and social geography. It examines the meaning and ways in which the social and/or cultural is structured in symbiosis with the spatial. The course also covers the processes of social production of space and themes of cultural and social geography such as territory and feminist geography.

This course analyzes the role of art in the transition of our culture into the digital sphere. It looks at the dematerialization of art and the growing trend towards art created in the internet. The class uses case studies and in-person visits to witness digital creation and later apply its cultural significance. It also aims to analyze the cultural accessibility of digital art. It has a specific focus on Spanish case studies and the cultural environment of Spain with regards to digitalized culture.
