This course is the continuation of the intermediate level and serves as a bridge to further study of Spanish language and culture. Students work on refining their writing and speaking skills by engaging in a variety of integrated language tasks. Nuance grammar concepts will be explored in complex sentences and structures using discourse markers and connectors.

This oral skills course corresponds to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. It focuses on improving communicative competition and expanding lexical knowledge and discursive strategies that allow students to interact successfully in Spanish daily life.

This course offers an upper elementary study of Spanish language for students at an A2 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This course analyzes the concepts and phenomena of cultural encounters and border-crossings in Spanish American societies, mainly through some of the fundamental works that were produced in the 20th and 21st centuries. The course examines where and how one can observe the phenomena and processes of cultural encounters and border-crossings in the texts while exploring the meaning of each aspect of these phenomena within a specific socio-historical and political context.

The course contemplates the following key questions: How does a culture travel and encounter another? How does it change its shape upon encountering other cultures? Is it possible to have the concept of a return to “the original” point of departure or the concept of “authenticity"?

This course offers an intermediate study of Spanish language for students at a B1 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This is the second semester of the course "Spanish Pragmatics" (PRAGMÀTICA DE L'ESPANYOL) which analyzes both oral and written Spanish language structures through theoretical and contextual frameworks of language use.

This course focuses on the basic grammar and communication abilities of the language, with the goal of acquiring the basics for a beginner level (A1).  The course covers forms in gender and number in articles, nouns and adjectives, as well as the conjugation of verbs in the present tense.
