Housing

You will be housed in either a single or double occupancy room in a shared student apartment in Paris. You also have the option to opt out of the program housing if you wish to search for your own accommodations. Read the Housing Opt-Out section below for more information. All program-arranged housing is made based on the preferences you provide before departure.

Shared Apartment

You will either have your own private bedroom or a shared bedroom within a shared apartment in Paris. Apartments are located in residential buildings in different Parisian neighborhoods. Facilities including the kitchen and bathroom are shared with other program participants. Exact location of housing will not be provided until the program arrival day.

Each apartment is fully furnished and your bedroom will include a bed, desk, closet, and storage space. Linens and towels are provided. Kitchen equipment will include a small stove-top, refrigerator, dishes, and basic cooking utensils. All apartments have internet access but will not include air conditioning, and most buildings do not have elevators.

Commute

Locations vary from 15-30 minutes by public transport to the Accent Paris Study Center.
 

Housing Opt-Out

You have the option to arrange your own housing for the duration of your program if you wish. You can do this by completing a housing opt out form that will be available when the predeparture process begins. Please note that arranging your own housing will be more expensive than the housing provided through the program. Neither UCEAP nor the program provider have the capacity to offer resources for searching for private accommodations, nor can they vet the suitability or safety of the housing. After the housing opt out form is signed and submitted, you cannot opt back into the program housing.

Your ability to show up to class and program excursions on time is your responsibility and priority as a participant on your program. It’s important that your housing location is easily accessible by public transportation and within a reasonable distance (25-30 minutes) to the Study Center where classes are held.
