Housing

You will be housed in either a single room in a shared student apartment or a single room in a studio apartment in a residence hall. You also have the option to opt out of the program housing if you wish to search for your own accommodations. Read the Housing Opt-Out section below for more information. All program-arranged housing is made based on the preferences you provide before departure.

Shared Apartment

You will have your own private bedroom within a shared apartment in Paris. Apartments are located in residential buildings in different Parisian neighborhoods. Common areas, including the kitchen and bathroom, are shared with other program students. Exact location of housing will not be provided until your arrival overseas.

Each apartment is fully furnished and includes a washing machine. Your private bedroom includes a bed, desk, and storage space. Linens and towels are provided. All apartments have internet access.

Locations vary - from 15-40 minutes by public transport to the Accent Paris Study Center.
 

Residence Hall

Each studio is furnished with a bed, desk, and a kitchenette containing a small refrigerator, stove, microwave, and eating utensils. You will have a private bathroom with a shower and washbasin. Linens and towels are provided and self-serve laundry facilities are available onsite. All studios have internet access.

Common areas in the residences include a reception area with a few couches, vending machines, and shared co-working spaces. Exact location of housing will not be provided until your arrival overseas.

COMMUTE

Approximately 30-35 minutes by public transport to the Accent Paris Study Center.
 

Housing Opt-Out

You have the option to arrange your own housing for the duration of your program if you wish. You can do this by completing a housing opt out form that will be available when the predeparture process begins. Please note that arranging your own housing will be more expensive than the housing provided through the program. Neither UCEAP nor the program provider have the capacity to offer resources for searching for private accommodations, nor can they vet the suitability or safety of the housing. After the housing opt out form is signed and submitted, you cannot opt back into the program housing.

Your ability to show up to class and program excursions on time is your responsibility and priority as a participant on your program. It’s important that your housing location is easily accessible by public transportation and within a reasonable distance (25-30 minutes) to the Study Center where classes are held.
