Housing

During your time in Madrid, you have the option of living in either a dorm or a homestay. All housing is prearranged for you by the staff in Madrid based on information you provide before arrival. Alumni highly recommend the homestay to reinforce the language learning and make life abroad in a new city a little easier.

Dorm

In the dorms, you’ll share a room with one other UC student. The dorms are double occupancy with a shared bathroom and access to communal kitchen facilities.

Accommodations

  • Shared bedroom
  • Shared bathroom
  • Off campus
  • Meal plan (two meals per day: breakfast or snack and lunch or dinner)

Live with

  • UC students

Commute

The dorms are about a 20-minute walk to classes.

Homestay

Homestays are located throughout Madrid and consist of a rented room in a house or apartment. The level of interaction with each host varies; you may or may not be included in their daily activities. In some cases, your homestay may be shared with a second UC or international student, but it’s rare.

Commute

A typical commute is 30–45 minutes by bus or metro but some students are placed in housing close enough to walk to class.
