About The Program
This program allows you to experience a city-based campus often voted Irish University of the Year in the Irish Sunday Times. University College Cork offers unique classes in environmental studies, music, and food business and development. Cork appeals to students who want a small-city vibe packed with the warmth, charm, and color of Ireland. The International Student Society offers affordable and highly popular weekend trips around the Emerald Isle. If community engagement is your passion, UC Cork has volunteer opportunities. Brave enough to surf the chilly Atlantic sea off the coast of county Kerry or Clare? Join the UC Cork surf club and find out.
Where you'll study
University College Cork is ranked as one of the top green universities of the world, and its researchers are leading in the fields of sustainability and environmental protection. The campus features stunning Gothic limestone buildings and the quad is home to the Ogham Stones, which hold the earliest written source of the Irish language. Sports facilities include swimming pools, climbing walls, and indoor/outdoor running tracks with a stadium-quality viewing gallery. The campus is in walking distance of the town center of Cork, the largest and southernmost county of Ireland. The city began as an island that now spans both banks of the River Lee with watery channels in all directions and countless bridges to cross. Those tributaries get new meaning when you see the university’s canoe and rowing clubs glide through the waters. The third-largest city of Ireland, Cork is still a small town by many standards—the people are welcoming and friendly, nature and fresh air surrounds it, and the best way to get around is on foot.
