About Norwich
Just a short train ride away from both the coast and the countryside, Norwich is an urban gem tucked away in the rural county of Norfolk. Writers and readers will be in a perpetual state of wonder at this cobblestoned Cathedral city’s lust and reverence for books (Norwich was actually named the City of Literature in 2012 by UNESCO). A city that knows how to party, Norwich has a booming nightlife. Go bowling while imbibing retro-inspired cocktails, get your groove on disco dancing, sing your heart out in a karaoke booth, or just lounge in one of the many atmospheric bars. The music scene is also thrilling. Expect to find heavy metal bands making the rounds at local venues, but don’t rule out more refined fare. - The Forum: Choose from music performances, theater, dining experiences, and art courses at the arts center with its glass-covered contemporary architecture.
- Norwich Guildhall: Walk in the footsteps of government leaders into the checkered-stone building with a Victorian courtroom, medieval assembly chamber, and opulent stained glass and woodwork decorating the council chamber.
- Plantation Garden: Wander the pathways and stairways of the Victorian garden to see the fountain, Italianate terrace, and gargoyles set in an old chalk quarry.
