This course discusses current environmental problems and their solutions. In addition, the course deals with related pedagogy and teaching materials.

This course examines theory and research on the role of communication in the development, maintenance, and termination of interpersonal relationships. The class is conducted in a lecture and discussion format; students are encouraged to actively participate, especially as everyone in the class has both personal and vicarious experience with relationships. 

This course examines world literature along with the characteristics of Korean literature. It compares literary works from around the world and promotes an understanding of human beings and society, history and ideology, and culture and civilization in a macroscopic manner through literary works.

This course introduces theories and practices of International Organizations. The first part of the course deals with theories pertaining to international relations and international law on international organizations. The second part of the course focuses on the United Nations (UN) and other organizations. This course is primarily a discussion course; prior knowledge of international law, international relations, human rights, and environment is recommended. 

The class explores various ideas from humanities and social sciences and engages scholars around the world. Topics include public religion, economics, and politics; religion and state; religion and political parties; religion and democratization; religion and civil society; religion, peace and politics; religion, politics, and conflict; the interplay between science, philosophy, and the world religions and implications for the flourishing of life in the post-covid19 era; and religion and foreign policy.     

This course enables students to develop English conversation strategies for formal and informal settings. Emphasis is on developing effective communication skills which accompany superior pronunciation and sophisticated use of grammar

This course offers an advanced introduction to the field of neurodiversity. Neurodiversity refers to variations in the human brain and cognition, for instance in sociability, learning, attention, mood and other mental functions. The course examines how certain developmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities affect how individuals experience, interact with, and interpret the world.

Co-sponsored by the Korea Foundation, this course is designed to provide a valuable learning experience on how South Korea has been conducting its regional and functional public diplomacy with a focus on its key issues and prospects. It further explores South Korea’s attractive points in its foreign and security policy implementation process as a part of conducting its public diplomacy. Various public diplomacy strategies will be discussed, such as how Korea can shape the perceptions of other countries on itself through appeal and attraction, determined by a country’s policies, culture, and values. This course provides both theoretical and practical views on South Korea’s public diplomacies in various aspects and in diverse regions across the world. In addition to several GSIS faculty members, former ambassadors and high-level executives who were at the forefront of Korea’s diplomacy have been invited as instructors for this course.

This course examines core managerial accounting concepts for planning, control, and decision-making. The course presents the concepts of cost and managerial accounting; analyzes accounting information for decision making purposes; and discusses contemporary managerial accounting techniques. 

Stylistics aims to render literary judgments about literary texts comprehensible by focusing attention on the linguistic choices embodied in literary texts. The course introduces some of the most exciting stylistic analyses and applies it to a variety of literary and filmic texts.
