This course introduces the essential principles of art history, and presents a chronological study of the main artistic manifestations of the Western World from prehistory to the Middle Ages. Special attention is paid to the classical antiquity and the Romanesque and Gothic medieval styles.

This course offers an introduction to biomedicine. Topics include: cell chemistry; an introduction to the study of cells; an introduction to the study of tissues and organs; tissue repair and regeneration; embryonic and adult stem cells; tissue engineering; human genetics; gene therapy; vaccinations. 

This course offers an introduction to fiction videomaking. Topics include: framing; mise-en-scene and framing; cinematography; digital camera and sound equipment advanced functions and techniques; editing; sound; shot and reserve shot; script; shooting and editing of a final project.

This course provides a study of journalistic coverage of social issues as well as best approaches and treatment. Topics covered include: an introduction to social journalism; insight into the history of social journalism and its sociological grounds; different reporting techniques, approaches, and tools used in social journalism.

This course provides a study of artificial intelligence and the application of AI tools and techniques to solve real-world problems. Topics include: knowledge representation techniques; types of searches (blind, heuristic); reasoning under uncertainty (Bayesian inference, Bayesian Networks, Markov Models, fuzzy logic); applied artificial intelligence.

This course provides an introduction to law from an abstract and philosophical framework. Topics include: the concept of law; law as a social and cultural phenomenon and form of social organization; law and other normative systems; law and force; legal norms; legal system; the creation of law; interpretation and application of law.

This course analyzes international society and globalization including structure and main features, the subjects and actors, and the regimes of cooperation developed such as for human rights, the environment, international security, and international economics.
