This course is a tutorial for SOC 117. In this course, students discuss the subject at hand in smaller groups. Students are required to conduct a sociological study culminating in a term paper and oral presentation (in groups) focusing on a particular social problem of choice.

This is a tutorial for PSY 120. This course examines the cognitive functions that are at the root of human behavior, and it explores the different types of models that correspond to different levels of cognition. The course offers an overview of the historical development of these models in the domains of perception, attention, learning, memory, and language. Experimental outcomes are examined in the context of a range of contemporary research.

This course involves directed reading of major works of world literature in French translation, preceded by a critical presentation of the concept of "world literature" and enhanced by a reflection on the concrete circulation of literary works.

This course provides a series of workshops designed to give students the knowledge and experience necessary for teaching a foreign language. Over the course of the semester, students lead 10 workshops of one hour and forty-five minutes each, composed of 2 to 7 Francophone students learning English. The workshops foster cultural exchange by providing the Anglophone student with valuable teaching experience and by helping the French students learn English language skills.

This course provides students with knowledge of the French political system, political history of France, the current political institutions, political parties, and the sociology of voting patterns at polls. Through this course, international students are able to understand French political life to better comprehend national and international issues.

This course provides students with essential content of concrete or abstract subjects in a complex text. The students acquire the skills to express themselves in a clear and detailed way on a wide range of subjects (society, economy, politics, environment, culture, media). The course covers the following skills and material: expressing opinions, forming hypotheses, conjugating the subjunctive (present, past, imperfect), and analyzing the Italian family.

This course studies developmental psychology. Topics covered include: childhood development, infancy, childhood and adulthood; developmental psychology through the perspectives of varying schools of thought (i.e. biological perspective, sociocultural, socio-cognitive, etc.); the work of Skinner, Bandura, Piaget, Pavlov, Freud, and others. The emphasis of this course is on the nature versus nurture debate.
