This course discusses parametric estimation and the different techniques of parametric estimation. The course is divided into two units. The first unit covers point estimation including: properties of estimators; estimation of the mean, variance, and proportion of a population; procedures for the construction of estimators. The second unit covers interval estimation including: confidence intervals; pivotal quantity method.

Weekly topics include: the factors and functions of semiotics, poetry and rhetoric; verbal versification; meaning, reference, context, situation, and theme; verbal and visual morphology; types of speech and strategy; narration and the effects of narration; manipulations in media, meaning, and speech; figures of speech.

This course provides a critical analysis of the criteria used to distinguish between normal and abnormal behavior and apply psychopathological diagnosis. Topics covered include: history of clinical psychology and psychopathology; general models of abnormal behavior; evaluation, classification and diagnosis of abnormal behavior; disorders of perception, awareness and attention; memory disorders; disorders of thought and language; psychomotor disorders; food and sleep disorders.
