COURSE DETAIL
This course provides an introduction to Mao Zedong thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It examines how the Chinese Communist Party uses the theoretical results of the Sinicization of Marxism to solve the problems of the Chinese revolution, construction, and reform at various stages. The course also covers the guiding position of Marxism in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and focuses on the theory and practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. A social survey, completed outside of class, is an integral part of the course.
This course provides two separate grades, one for the theory portion of the course and the other for the practice component.

This course provides a study of the basic laws and general methods of management activities. Through learning the basic functions of management, the development history of management theory, the comparison of Chinese and foreign management concepts, management and organization design, management types and methods, and management innovation, students can understand the historical evolution process of management theory and the development trend of management practice. At then end, students master the basic laws and general methods of management activities. This course gives students a preliminary understanding of all aspects of management such as business operations, organizational behavior, and general management, and provide students with opportunities to improve their skills in solving management problems. It also provides training opportunities for students to improve their decision-making ability under limited time and incomplete information.

The first-year students of Japanese major need to study elementary Japanese. This semester, teachers mainly teach pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. It fosters and trains students to lay the foundation and explore their own learning methods.The textbook used in this course is the newly edited Japanese Volume 1, the 88th edition of "Standard Japanese" Elementary (Part 1) (Part 2). This semester aims to comprehensively improve students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while focusing on strengthening interactive exercises in class and strengthening their oral expression skills.
Students can achieve JLPT N3 level after the completion of this semester's course. Also, Students
can be able to read general Japanese text materials, carry out basic daily life conversations, and write simple essays.

The course covers the international monetary system: evolution and trends; balance of payments: pattern, theory and policy; foreign exchange market: structure, efficiency and derivatives; exchange rate theory: main basic theory; international capital flows: evolution, motivation, effects and management; international financial markets: composition, innovation and effects; international financial crisis: types, evolution and risk management; regional monetary integration and international policy coordination: choices under globalization; contemporary China's trade and finance: development, openness and international influence.

This course examines the method and process of problem analysis and mathematical model establishment; the algorithm design strategy and its key points--recursion, brute force, divide and conquer, greed, dynamic programming, backtracking and branch and bound, random, approximation, etc.; and the expression of algorithm complexity and the basic method of complexity analysis.

This course traces the central features of the development of US-China relations from the end of imperial China to the present, including analysis of current issues and problems. The course provides a survey of the rise of China from the decline of the Qing dynasty to the triumph of Deng Xiaoping's ''Reform and Opening to the Outside World.'' It discusses the rise of China's neighbors, including Japan, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, as viewed from the perspective of the foreign policy interests of China and the US.

Students master the basic overview of a computer system and use these concepts to solve practical problems. The course covers representation of information in computer, machine representation and organization of executable programs, principle of processor, characteristics of hierarchical storage and cache principle, virtual memory, performance optimization.
