I knew that this program was essential in understanding what drove my passions, and would feel my soul in a way my regular academics could not. Every expectation I had was exceeded–people were more welcoming and the biodiversity more breathtaking than I could have hoped. I spent every day grateful to have been a part of this program that challenged me to become a better researcher and person. I did not grow up in a wealthy household and would not have imagined before coming to college that I would be able to experience academics in this way. This experience has motivated me to continue researching topics that drive my curiosity and travel whenever possible.
I felt that this program changed the mold of my learning, and that the person I was when I returned viewed the world differently, instead through a perspective of discovery rather than academics.
